Howard qualified in 1983 from the University of Leeds. Having qualified, Howard left Leeds to join our practice.

With well over 25 years of experience in General Dental practice, Howard has worked in most fields of Dentistry, but in more recent years he has tended to concentrate on his main interest of Restorative Dentistry.

Always keen to keep up to date with the ever changing face of Dentistry and learn new techniques, Howard attends many postgraduate courses and seminars both locally and further a field. He says the day he loses the enthusiasm for further education will be the day he retires.

Howard aims to provide high quality dental care in a friendly, informal and relaxed atmosphere and never forgetting that he is treating a person and not just a mouth.

Bill Seddon Suit

In 2002 he purchased his first microscope and increased his referral caseload to 2 days per week while continuing in the enjoyable role of a general practitioner. In 2005 Bill limited his practice to endodontics, performing around 60% re-treatment cases. He works with the microscope for 100% of each case and has a keen interest in photography through the microscope. Bill joined the British Endodontic Society in 1992 and since that time has attended over 20 BES meetings. He was a Council Member from 2002 -2009 and Treasurer from 2004-2009. He is actively involved in internet discussion sites such as Roots and TDO, where he regularly presents cases for discussion and education. Bill has taught at The Eastman CPD centre, and lectures worldwide on Endodontics and Microscopes. He also regularly lectures and presents hands-on courses at major events such as The Dentistry Show and Dental Showcase, and is a Key Opinion Leader for Kavo Kerr, where he is involved in teaching Endodontists how best to run their own courses, and also in product development.

Outside work he enjoys spending time with his wife Jaana and their 3 children. He is a keen golfer, loves skiing and scuba diving.

Rob

Robert Dyas

Robert Dyas after initially starting a degree in Fine Art and Design he changed direction and qualified from Sheffield University Dental School. Shortly after qualifying he started his specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield with further training in Leeds, London and Sheffield. He was awarded a prestigious Welcome Trust Personal Research Training Fellowship. In 1994 he gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. From 1998, he lectured in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, organising and teaching on the undergraduate/postgraduate courses in surgery, implantology and sedation at the University of Manchester.

In 2000, he gained his MMedSci from the University of Sheffield, winning the outstanding research medal from the Royal Society of Medicine. He has published articles in several refereed journals and lectures both nationally and internationally. He provides training courses in all aspects of oral surgery, implantology, bone grafting and behavioural management. He works in a private practice limited to Oral Surgery and dental implantology.

Currently, he is visiting Senior Lecturer on many University implant programs previously ADI Secretary, Treasurer, President Elect and ADI Clinical Mentor, NobelBiocare mentor, Dentsply Peer, Straumann Mentor and SAAD/DSTG Mentor. He is also a regular speaker for Bridge2Aid and a Humble Brush ambassador and is the clinical director of of ProDentalCPD.

In his spare time, Rob enjoys cycling, art and music.

Rachael Hallas

Rachael graduated from Newcastle University in 2014. She has also completed postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and passed examinations to become a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Rachael strives to provide high quality general dental care, focusing on prevention and minimally invasive dentistry. She is very friendly and will quickly make you feel at ease. She is committed to continuing professional development and regularly attends lectures and courses to further develop her skills.

Rachael also has a keen interest in facial aesthetics, providing anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler to help reverse signs of the aging process, and is currently completing a diploma in this field. Her ethos is to provide safe and natural results.

Outside of dentistry Rachael enjoys spending time outdoors and keeping active, and loves long walks in the countryside with her dog Millie.

Meet Tristan, one of our exceptional associate dentists Portman Dental & Implant. Tristan is completing his post-graduate diploma in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry at the highly esteemed Fresh Dental Institute in London. Tristan has provided top-quality dental care for patients throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Cumbria since graduating from Newcastle University.

Tristan takes great pride in his work, and is a self-confessed perfectionist who thrives on fine details and the technical aspects of dentistry. He enjoys tailoring solutions for his patients, with a focus on improving both form and function. Patients appreciate his warm and welcoming manner, as well as his dedication to providing personalised care that addresses their unique needs.

When he’s not busy in the surgery, Tristan loves to explore the great outdoors with his fiancé and their whippet. He enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and photography, as well as travelling to new and exciting destinations.

Lucy was born in Cardiff, South Wales, but grew up in Stoke-On-Trent. She has worked in the dental profession since leaving school and is very proud to have worked her way up the ladder from a YTS dental nurse to become a Dental Hygienist/Therapist.

After graduating from the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in 2009, Lucy felt an affinity with Sheffield and decided to move here permanently.

Lucy's dual qualification in dental hygiene and dental therapy enables her to provide both general and in depth periodontal work. She offers comprehensive treatment and guidance with all gum related issues.

She is very dedicated to her career and is committed to ongoing postgraduate education to update and improve her knowledge in the ever changing world of dentistry.

Samantha has over twenty-five years of experience working as a dental hygienist. She supports her patients by focusing on keeping their teeth and gums healthy as well as treating gum disease (periodontal disease). Her patient care approach is both informative and motivational and includes practical advice that patients can take home to improve their daily oral care regime.

Since qualifying as a Dental Hygienist from the Leeds Dental Institute in 1993 she has built up extensive knowledge and experience both within the NHS and in private practice. In addition, she has an impressive knowledge of working with patients to care properly for their implant restorations, and orthodontic appliances.

Samantha is passionate about providing the best treatment she can for all her patients; her friendly, and knowledgeable manner means you can have total confidence in her ability to support you in keeping your mouth healthy.

Samantha is also a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BDSHT).
